Fitz And The Tantrums Show LA Love In New Video For “I Just Wanna Shine”

Los Angeles-based pop neo-soul band Fitz and the Tantrums are repping their city with a new music video of “I Just Wanna Shine.” The song is the fifth single dropped from the band’s upcoming album, ALL THE FEELS, which is set to release on September 20.

The new music video tells the story of a young Angeleno girl who is working hard to take care of her family while trying to pursue her dreams of becoming a dancer. Their video shows clips from all over Los Angeles as the protagonist skates across town to dance at some of the city’s most iconic places. It also appears in Walmart’s back to school campaign featuring even more shots of Los Angeles.

Other singles such as “123456,” “All The Feels,” “I Need Help!,” and “Don’t Ever Let Em” have also dropped, but “123456” stands as the lead single so far. The song is accompanied by a creative music video of the band running around downtown Los Angeles.

The band is currently co-headlined a tour with Young The Giant with openers COIN and Alice Merton this summer and will finish up in Las Vegas August 16.

Alex Myers: I'm an Okie living in L.A. writing about music and other things that I'm passionate about. I was raised by musicians and I grew up playing bass guitar, piano and cello. You can always find me with my headphones on or glued to my phone reading the latest music news. My passion for music lead me to attend college at Loyola Marymount University in L.A. with the dreams of making a living in the music industry. After interning for two record labels I was certain that working in the music industry was not for me. However, when I started writing for my college's newspaper, I figured out that I was a talented writer and I subsequently changed my career path. Now I'm combining my two passions and aspiring to become a music writer.
