Roxodus the Canadian music festival which was set to take place on July 11-13, 2019 in Edenvale, Ontario has now been canceled. The show was slated to have big name artists like, Alice Cooper, Lita Ford, Cheap Trick, Lynrd Skynrd, Nickelback, Kid Rock and many more perform at various stage sites. The show was also going to have a variety of eateries, activities and boasted how guests would have a unique experience. All of this has been canceled and provincial police are reportedly investigating the company behind the now-cancelled Roxodus Festival.
Media reports suggest MF Live Inc., run by Mike Dunphy and Fab Loranger, was under investigation following a complaint last week. “Tremendous rainy weather that has impacted our ability to produce the festival,” wrote Loranger in a press release, promising refund information would soon follow.
Clearview Township Mayor Doug Measures drove by the site Saturday check on set-up progress and was surprised to see no such activity at the site. “That was a red flag to me, knowing the amount of work you need to put the whole thing together,” said Measures, who has a background in technical production. He eventually spoke to Loranger early Tuesday morning but made no mention of cancelling — but said organizers were looking into moving the event to Burl’s Creek in Oro-Medonte.
On the Roxodus website, an announcement from the “Roxodus Team” states: “To our Roxodus Family, During the past couple of months, our venue at Edenvale Airport has battled tremendous rainy weather that has impacted our ability to produce the festival. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the Roxodus Music Festival this year. Our team has worked tirelessly to find a solution in which the show can go on but unfortunately, we could not make it happen this year. Our dream of producing a ‘once in a lifetime experience’ has been put on hold as we take the much-needed time to nurture our venue into a premier landmark in Ontario. We sincerely thank all of the artists, sponsors, partners, and neighbors who have supported us from the very beginning. The embrace from our community has meant the world to us and we hope to one day see our dream come to life.”
