BABYMETAL Unveil Third New Member In New Video For “Pa Pa Ya!!”

After performing at Glastonbury and announcing the release of their new album, Metal Galaxy, Babymetal has found replacement for their third member, Yuimetal, with the release of the music video for their latest single, “Pa Pa Ya!!” Babymetal fans can now welcome Kano Fujihira to the possibility of joining the group permanently.

Even though there have not been any public announcements made by Babymetal, it appears that the intention behind using a video of Fujihira performing with the group for a music video entails bigger plans in the future.

Fujihira started as a singer for the Japanese pop idol group Sakura Gakuin, which is where both Babymetal members found their fame as well. Sakura Gakuin bases its activities on the Japanese school system, meaning that when a member graduates from the Japanese equivalent to middle school they leave the group and they only perform when Japanese school is out for the summer.

These past Sakura Gakuin members have undoubtedly taken a career change when they joined Babymetal, but the songs being written by the group are leaving metal fans speechless.

The music video for “Pa Pa Ya!!” is a live performance of Babymetal at Japan’s Yokohama Arena in May. The live performance is energetic and filled with flames, literally, while the girls sing and dance in unison. The energy is even raised to a higher level with Thai rapper F.HERO featuring on the song and the video.

F.HERO spits aggressive rhymes in Thai while Babymetal dances along, which adds a comical dynamic that fans enjoy.

Last month the group announced their American tour which will start in Orlando and end in Seattle.

Alex Myers: I'm an Okie living in L.A. writing about music and other things that I'm passionate about. I was raised by musicians and I grew up playing bass guitar, piano and cello. You can always find me with my headphones on or glued to my phone reading the latest music news. My passion for music lead me to attend college at Loyola Marymount University in L.A. with the dreams of making a living in the music industry. After interning for two record labels I was certain that working in the music industry was not for me. However, when I started writing for my college's newspaper, I figured out that I was a talented writer and I subsequently changed my career path. Now I'm combining my two passions and aspiring to become a music writer.
