Russian Circles has just put out the second single for their upcoming album, Blood Year. The track is titled “Milano” and follows the single “Arluck,” which was released earlier this year. Russian Circles has already proven themselves in the past, with the new single “Milano” showing that they are still masters of heavy rock music. The song comes in at over six and a half minutes long, sticking with the group’s usual style of longer tracks. The Blood Year album that “Milano” is a part of is set to release on August 2nd of this year and will be the group’s seventh full length album.
Russian Circles got its start a little over a decade ago and has been hard at work ever since. Averaging an album nearly every two years since the mid 2000s, the group is one of the hardest working bands in the rock scene today. The band’s most recent project was titled Guidance and was released in 2016. The album saw Russian Circles exploring a wide range of sounds and experimenting with their typical high velocity metal style. Some of the more popular songs of the album were the tracks “Asa” and “Afrika,” which both had characteristics that defined them as some of the band’s more unique songs. Now the group is gearing up for an entirely new project, one that will hopefully bring more new styles and ideas from the band.
The “Milano” single is an incredibly heavy hitting song, relying on powerful drums to set the speed of the track. The song follows the style of the previously released “Arluck” single, giving fans a good idea of what the new album will sound like. The project will be released after what has become one of the longest gaps between albums that the group has taken, hopefully taking the time to ensure the project comes out perfectly. Blood Year will be released ahead of a massive North American tour for the band this fall, consisting of dates from September through November. This means that fans of the album will be able to see it live just after release. The full tracklist for Blood Year has already been released and can be found below along with the new track, “Milano.”
