Stereogum recently reported on the announcement of Day N Vegas, a new hip-hop focused festival to be debuting in Las Vegas this November. Goldenvoice, purveyors of the some of the most well-known live music events in the world, like Coachella, is organizing the festival. The festival announcement has quickly attracted much media attention, mostly due to unbelievable lineup.
The three headliners, J. Cole, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar, represent three of the biggest hip-hop artists in the world. If these superstars aren’t enough, there are plenty of other artists of varying popularity and style each day of the festival.
Some Friday highlights include Miguel, the R&B savant, Megan Thee Stallion, the new queen of Houston rap, and Saba, the introspective mind behind last year’s critical darling, Care for Me. The fun continues on Saturday with the Atlanta-born triplet-flow experts, Migos, and DaBaby, the often hilarious rapper behind recent top ten hit, “Suge”. Tyler, The Creator and almost the entire Top Dawg Entertainment roster round out the weekend with a busy Sunday. To put the insanity of this lineup into perspective, over half of the XXL Freshman List, a selection of hip-hop’s newest stars, are represented here.
