Watch Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky Put a Unique Spin on Extreme’s “More Than Words” Live

Performing as the new band Droneflower, Marissa Nadler and c have been making headlines with their unique presentation of classic hair metal ballad “More Than Words,” during their recent live shows. Instagram user Stomboxsonic stated Droneflower’s cover on “More than Words,” reminded them of the late 1980s and early ’90s. It was during that time in which rock in Boston was often referred to in the past tense. Take a look at the cover below.

The pair have recently performed a  “dark and ruminative set” in New York, which featured songs from the joint album Droneflower. They opened the show with their dark, lingering track “Space Ghost 1.” The pair then transitioned into “Watch the Time” before performing their covered version of “More than words.”

MXDWN reported the performance as a “descended into dark, dream pop when Nadler and Brodsky stripped away Nuno Bettencourt’s acoustic guitar and replaced it with intricate and somber instrumentals.”They labeled it as the “cover the audience didn’t know they needed until that precise moment.”
