Cold War Kids have released two new songs in time for summer. “Complainer” and “4th of July” were both produced by Lars Stalfors, who has worked with St.Vincent and Foster the People. Both songs will be featured on their upcoming album, NEW AGE NORMS, due in the fall.”Complainer” is Cold War Kids’s first co-write with Bonnie McKee, who has notably worked with Katy Perry, and Rita Ora and Electric Guest’s Asa Taccone. This marks the band’s first release of new music in two years, with their last studio effort being 2017’s LA Divine, an album that contained a soulful feel-good vibe. The band will also be hitting the road this summer with a mix of festival sets and headlining show, kicking things off July 12 at the Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY, alongside The Killers, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals, and The Avett Brothers. It will then continue on to Salt Lake City, Houston, Phoenix, and San Francisco. Tickets for their headlining shows will go on sale Friday, June 21 at 10 am local time. Tickets can be purchased here.
