Canadian musician, singer and songwriter Devin Townsend has announced that the fourth part of his long-lasting vinyl box set series, ERAS Part 4, will be released August 23, 2019.

The box set will include his albums Ziltoid The Omniscient, Z² – Dark Matters, Ziltoid Live At The Royal Albert Hall and The Retinal Circus. These albums will be assembled into a nine-piece 180g vinyl two piece box set package. It will also come with an LP booklet consisting of Townsend’s personal notes and comments on the albums.

Songs such as “By Your Command,” “Hyperdrive,” and “Planet Smasher” will be featured in the box set along with many more of his classic pieces.

You can pre-order the box on the singer’s website for £118.99.

This year the singer debuted his documentary about the creation of his album documentary series, which is seven episodes about the making of his album Empath. The album came out in March and it consists of ten songs that scream progressive metal with eclectic sounds resonating from each track.

Towsend said “these box sets have been very special to me in that commemorating the times and experiences of the past work allows me-for once- to stop and reflect on all the effort and time that went into documenting these moments. I’m exceptionally proud of these albums, and to have a complete set of the work at this level of quality is a dream come true for me.”

The release of this box set follows an eventful year for the singer as he has released plans for touring along with his breathtaking and out of this world video for “Spirits Will Collide.”

The music video is a true dream as it shows scenes of Townsend playing the guitar in outer space with elephants and chimpanzees.

He will be going on a European tour with English progressive metal band Haken this winter and plans to stop in North America, Australia and Asia this summer and fall.

You can always find me with my headphones on or glued to my phone reading the latest music news. My passion for music lead me to attend college at Loyola Marymount University in L.A. with the dreams of making a living in the music industry. After interning for two record labels I was certain that working in the music industry was not for me. However, when I started writing for my college's newspaper, I figured out that I was a talented writer and I subsequently changed my career path. Now I'm combining my two passions and aspiring to become a music writer.
