Punk band Baroness has released a new music video for their energetic song “Tourniquet.” The video consists of silhouettes of band members John Baizley (lead vocals/guitar), Nick Jost (bass/keyboard), Sebastian Thomson (drums) and Gina Gleason (lead guitar/vocals) performing an epic nearly six-minute jam.
The video brings a liveliness to the already invigorating song as it adds random images of objects such as a human heart and wilting flowers. The colors changes between colors of gold and orange which matches the title of their new album.
“Tourniquet” is part of the band’s new album Gold & Grey which released along with the music video on June 14. The seventeen track album has been highly anticipated by fans and critics all around the world.
In an interview with Revolver, the band explained that the name of the album was inspired by the color wheel.
“Orange is the final one on the wheel, so calling it Gold & Grey is our way of circumventing calling our album Orange — that’s just not a cool title, so this is as close as we get to it. I’ve listened to all five [Baroness albums] in a row, and this record feels like it’s part of that. And I don’t know that the next one won’t, but it also feels like 12 years might be long enough chasing one idea,” Baizlet said.
The band also released a music video for the acoustic version of their song “Cold Blooded Angels.” The smooth and grim sounding song is juxtaposed with a beautiful sunset shining on the band in the middle of a picturesque field.
The band will start a North American and European tour June 21 with its premiere show in Poughkeepsie, New York.
