Little Simz Explores Her Roots In New Video “101 FM”

Singer and rapper Little Simz has released a music video for her track “101 FM.” The song is from her most recent album, GREY Area, which was released earlier this year. Over the past few years Little Simz has become one of hip-hop’s rising stars, taking over the UK music scene. Little Simz, whose real name is Simbi Ajikawo, has won praise from a variety of world renowned performers and made a name for herself with her recent projects. One of Little Simz’s most popular albums was her 2017 project, Stillness in Wonderland, which contained features from SiR and BADBADNOTGOOD. The new “101 FM” music video details her rise to fame, intertwining clips of her performing with shots of the singer at home writing music.

Ajikawo’s new music video takes viewers on a journey with a more intimate look at her day to day life while she was just starting out. The video has shots of Little Simz singing, dancing and just overall having fun with her friends. Instead of showing a manufactured image like many music videos, “101 FM” attempts to show what life was like for the performer before becoming well known for her music. Most of the scenes of the music video depict only Simz and her close friends, instead of showing off fame and money like many videos do.

Recently, Little Simz has been on tour in the United States, with shows scheduled to take place throughout the rest of the month. Some of the shows coming up in the next few weeks include performances in Boston, Atlanta and Brooklyn. The tour is in support of her GREY Area album from earlier this year, a project that was acclaimed by both critics and fans. The album contained the “101 FM” track, along with the hit songs “Selfish” and “Offence.” Fans who have yet to see the new “101 FM” music video can find it below, along with the remaining North American tour dates for Little Simz current tour.
