METZ Share New Video For Hard Hitting Track “Dry Up”

METZ, a noise rock band from Toronto, have released a new music video for their single “Dry Up.” The song is going to be a part of their upcoming record, titled Automat. The album is not a traditional project, as the songs on it come from a variety of different periods in the band’s career. Each of the tracks on the upcoming album are non-albums songs that the band decided for one reason or another not to release. Now, however, the group is deciding to bring some of these old tracks to light and bring some of their older sounds to new fans. The Automat collection of songs is due to be released on July 12, near the end of the band’s current world tour.

METZ got their start a decade ago, originally taking from 90s grunge music and garage rock. From there the band developed their own sound and began working on their signature style. The band’s debut album, a self-titled project called METZ, came out in 2012 and featured the songs “Wet Blanket” and “Headache.”  After that the group went on to release two more albums, with the most recent one being 2017’s Strange Peace. As of now METZ is working on their fourth studio album, a project that has had very little details emerge so far. The band is currently on a tour throughout Europe, with upcoming shows including performances in London, Milan and Paris.

The new music video comes for the second single released for the Automat record, the track “Dry Up.” This single is just as hard hitting as fans of METZ have come to expect, with the punk trio performing as good as ever. The release of the track gives the band an opportunity to look back on where they came from and see the progression they have made over the years. The music video for the track attempts to show this progression as well, depicting a bunch of scenes and photographs from throughout the group’s career. A very rough collection of images, the video contains pictures of the group performing, random scenery and images of the band simply enjoying themselves. The music video for “Dry Up” can be found below for those who have yet to see it.
