Australian electronic music producer Flume has teamed up with Hannah Reid of London Grammar for a brand new track entitled “Let You Know” that has just been released off of Future Classic. A lyric video for the song directed by Jonathan Zawada has also been released, which shows various shots of a landfill that shows the lyrics atop various items in the landfill.
“[London Grammar vocalist] Hannah Reid and I wrote ‘Let You Know’ last summer,” Flume explained in a press release. “I was on a writing trip to London, was actually the same trip where I first met slowthai. Had been wanting to make something with Hannah for a long time and this one just came together really naturally in the studio that day.”
“We’ve been trying to work together for years but it just never worked out with our schedules but I’m so glad it finally did,” Reid continued in a press statement. “Working with Harley was an honor because he pushes the boundaries of electronic music like nobody else. He’s the kind of electronic artist who will be around forever. I love our song we did together.”
Flume released his Skin Companion II EP back in 2017, which followed the release of his 2016 album Skin, and the first companion EP later that year. That EP featured the track “Enough,” featuring Pusha T, and “Fantastic” featuring Dave Bayley of Glass animals.
”‘I’m really happy how the Companion EP II has come out … so many tracks I’ve been wanting to get off my chest for so long now,” Flume told the Australian based radio station Triple J following his Grammy win earlier that year. “I think it’s kinda the end of the Skin campaign and it’s a nice way to end it because it’s instrumental stuff, there’s some vocal collabs, I’m just really happy how it turned out.’”
Flume released his most recent mixtape Hi This Is Flume earlier this year, which has been streamed over 41 million times on various music streaming platforms. Meanwhile, the project’s standout single “Friends” has reached over 10 million streams by this article’s publication.
