Keiji Haino & SUMAC Announce New Album Even for just the briefest moment Keep charging this “expiation” Plug in to making it slightly better For June 2019 Release

SUMAC, a “post-metal sludge powerhouse,” that mxdnwn notes is composed of Nick Yacyshyn, Brian Cook, and Aaron Turner, formerly of the band ISIS, have announced plans to collaborate with legendary guitarist Keiji Haino, yet again, for a new album titled Even For Just The Briefest Moment / Keep Charging This “expiation” / Plug In To Making It Slightly Better. The album is set to be released on June 28th, with a second LP to be released in either July or August, according to a press release sent to mxdwn.com.

The video trailer for Even For Just The Briefest Moment / Keep Charging This “expiation” / Plug In To Making It Slightly Better can be viewed on YouTube and the description for the trailer notes that the album’s four tracks are “described as ‘flamethrower jazz’ by the album’s mixing engineer Randall Dunn” and that they all “churn and boil with ghostly howls, thunderous dissonance, and disquieting negative space”

SUMAC and Haino have collaborated many times in the past, including another collaborative album released in early 2018 titled American Dollar Bill – Keep Facing Sideways, You’re Too Hideous to Look at Face On, according to previous mxdwn article.

The first single from Even For Just The Briefest Moment / Keep Charging This “expiation” / Plug In To Making It Slightly Better, the fifteen minute long “Now I’ve Gone And Done It I Spilled Holy Water (Just Water) Over That Thing Called Healing Music……………………………. / There Was A Faint “Tsk” Noise,” has been released and covered by mxdwn earlier this month.

Even For Just The Briefest Moment / Keep Charging This “expiation” / Plug In To Making It Slightly Better is available for pre-order here as a digital album, a physical CD plus a digital album, the CD alone or as a cassette tape.
