Corona Capital Announced 2019 Line-up Featuring The Stokes, The Rancontuers and Billie Eilish

The tenth edition of the famous Corona Capital Music Festival, in the heart of Mexico’s Capital CDMX, will take place this upcoming November 16, and will feature the Strokes, Billie Eilish, Interpol, Weezer, Keane, Flume and Franz Ferdinand as headliners. Other prominent artists this year include The Rancontuers, Phantogram, Broken Social Scene, Kurt Vile, the Voidz and Sofi Tucker among many others.

Many prominent performers such as Foo Fighters, Green Day, Run The Jewels, alt-J and the XX have performed at the major music festival in the past. These previous iterations were so successful that the festival was able to hold a sister festival in the city of Guadalajara in May, which featured 2019 line-up in Guadalajara, featuring The Chemical Brothers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Tame Impala, Phoenix, Dillon Francis and Chromeo.

Julian Casablancas the frontman for two of the acts performing this year, the Voidz and the Strokes recently held an interview where he recalled his first and only debut album Phazes for The Young.

“I just came off years of touring. Hadn’t really caught my breath since the beginning, really, and so it took me a while to recover from all that travel, and drinking, and all that,” Casablancas explained in an interview with Billboard. “The problem with music is it’s not like riding a bicycle: if you stop doing it, you have to start from scratch a little bit. There’s a certain amount of knowledge that you retain, obviously, [but] I was really kind of starting over.”

He further goes on to elaborate that:

“We had had all these, I don’t know, weirdnesses within the bands at the time — other people were doing records, and there were a whole bunch of problems that I’m sure a psychiatrist could have helped with. Time has helped and healed and all that [but] at the time, things were pretty volatile. I had never really wanted to do a solo thing, because I felt like The Strokes was my thing already. [With that] kind of fraying at the seams a little bit, I decided to try to do some things myself.”
