Avicii might have been taken away from us too soon but his longtime collaborators have made sure that his musical legacy will not die out just yet as a new single “Hold The Line” was released today featuring EDM group Arizona. The song was put out today as part of the release for the posthumous album of the Swedish producer, TIM, which was released earlier today across all streaming platforms.
The track stands by itself as a thunderous track that comes off as a powerful revelation in terms of coming to grips with the loss of those close of us, particularly Avicii: We don’t get to die young, Trouble keeping our head sometimes, We just have to push on, We don’t have to give up this life.
While the single is very tied into remembering the fallen producer that passed away suddenly last year, the song was meant to give listeners a light of positivity at the end of their tunnel when the hardships we encounter on a daily basis that can sometimes cloud us from seeing the good to keep us going.
Arizona lead singer Zachary Charles said that he had been a fan of Avicii’s work for some time and felt honored that the producer really resonated with their song.
… We’ve all struggled with anxiety and depression throughout our daily lives, and have been vocal about mental health awareness. We didn’t learn until after Avicii’s passing that this song had made its way into Tim’s hands and really resonated with him. We felt honored to have the opportunity to take it the last few steps to the finish line. This song means a lot to us, and we hope it will carry a positive message to anyone out there who is struggling with the hardships of daily life. You’re not alone.
Avicii, born Tim Bergling, died from suicide last year on April 20th at age 28. At the time of his passing, his album TIM was about halfway done before a carefully selected group of producers and collaborators were chosen to finish the project in his honor.
