Bon Iver Releases New Songs Featuring Jenn Wasner and Announces Fall 2019 Tour Dates with Sharon Van Etten and Feist

Founded by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, American indie folk band Bon Iver released their two new songs, “Hey, Ma” and “U (Man Like),” both featuring Jenn Wasner, who is one of the band members in American indie rock duo Wye Oak, along with Andy Stack.

The first song, “Hey, Ma,” is a beautiful track with blurry and old recorded video from Justin Vernon’s family. He sings, “Tall time to call your ma…I was tokin’ on dope / I hoped it all won’t go in a minute / With the past that you know.” The whirling melody reminisces about mother’s love and nostalgia emotions.

The second ballad, “U (Man Like),” focus on clean and pure piano sound based on gospel-blues style. Bruce Hornsby provides the piano tracks, while Wasner, Moses Sumney and Elsa Jensen are featuring on backing vocals. The Brooklyn Youth Chorus and The National’s Bryce Dessner also contribute their chorus to this delightful song. Listen to “U (Man Like)” and “Hey, Ma” below,

“This project began with a single person, but throughout the last 11 years, the identity of Bon Iver has bloomed and can only be defined by the faces in the ever growing family we are,” said by Vernon’s frontman in a statement.

Bon Iver also announced Fall tour dates on 2019 concerts tour in September and October, with the support from Jenn Wasner and Flock of Dimes—who featured on both new singles, Paste Magazine reports. The tour tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 7, at 10 a.m. local time. There will also be an artist presale from June 5-6.
