Local booker, The Nothing Song, will be bringing four of Austin’s favorite solo projects together this Tuesday, June 4th. The event will be held at the beloved Cheer Up Charlies beginning at 9pm.
The first to perform, Mary Bryce, who currently showcases her vocal talents with local favorites SMiiLE, joins the flowing sounds of violin, cello, bass, drums, and piano with her solo venture to create a graceful sound that’s easy on the ears. Inspired by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald, Bryce’s debut single, “flowers”, is captivating in its vocal performance and R&B poly rhythms complemented by swelling orchestral strings.
Christelle Bofale will follow Bryce with her immersive, lo-fi indie guitar and striking vocals. Bofale’s newest release explores mental health and blackness and the intersection thereof. Her music has a visceral effect – emerging the listener into a sea of sound.
Van Mary’s Emily Whetstone is the next talented lady up. In her solo performances, Whetstone breaks down her typical garage rock sound into a more delicate tune with lyrics to make you think. Her smoky vocals captivate and transcend.
Finally, Pelvis Wrestley’s, Jammy Violet will be showcasing his electronic indie pop to finish up the night.
The show will welcome all those 21+ with a $3-5 “suggested” donation.
