Snail Mail with Duster @ Brooklyn Steel 7/31

“Be honest with me / Who do you change for? / Who’s top of your world?” sings Lindsey Jordan, aka Snail Mail on track “Pristine” from her 2018 beauty of a debut album, Lush. Luckily, Jordan will be singing these words – and many, many others – during her performance at Brooklyn Steel on Wednesday, July 31st. Duster will serve as support for the show, which begins at 8:00pm, with doors opening an hour earlier at 7:00pm. Tickets are just $25 for General Admission, and the show is for those 16 and older.

Snail Mail broke into the stratosphere in 2015 when she began performing live shows with her band. Her first self-penned EP Stick was released during this time as well, which attracted the attention of indie label Sister Polygon Records. On Polygon, Snail Mail released her second EP Habit in 2016 to positive reviews, including first track “Thinning” receiving “Best New Track” status by Pitchfork.

After migrating to Matador Records a year later, Lindsey Jordan released her debut record Lush to widespread critical acclaim. And rightly so – the record is spectacularly full of well-conceptualized indie rock with heart and truth. Bigger critics believed so as well: Pitchfork ranked it within their “Best New Music,” while the likes of Rolling Stone and Stereogum ranked Lush high on their year-end top album lists for 2018.

If you enjoy mellow tunes packed with emotion and resonance, you’ll want to rush to see Snail Mail – it’ll be worth every penny.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
