The Mystic Braves have their roots in 60s psychedelic rock, but aren’t here to provide you with any gimmicky nostalgia. They plant their version of 60s sound firmly in the present, with the trippiness of Tame Impala and beachy rock of the Allah-Las. Since 2012 they have released four full-length albums, and their number one song on Spotify, “Bright Blue Day Haze,” has amassed over 2 million streams. They just released mono version of their song “The Great Unknown” from their 2018 album of the same name. With great songwriting and grungy LA-style groove, the Mystic Braves will definitely put on a jam session fit for the Johnny Brenda’s stage.
Davey & The Chains is the brainchild of Philadelphia producer and multi-instrumentalist, David Ulrich. With a genre-defying mix of 70s boogie, diso, R&B, and pop, Davey & The Chains produces what Ulrich refers to as “rhythmic healing”–music that you can’t resist grooving to. Most of their tracks are recorded by Ulrich himself in his studio on analog tape, but their live band includes members of Philly’s “stoner-rock” scene, Ruby the Hatchet, Dark Web, and Ulrich’s wife, Kellyn Ulrich. With the addition of these rockers, Davey & The Chains live is certain to play an elevated version of their recorded jams. Check out their song “Monday Disco Morning.”
