Life of Agony debuts new music as they wrap up their U.S. tour. Fans were treated to sounds from their new track “Empty Hole,” while performing at the Playstation Theater in New York City. This new song is just a sample of what fans can expect to hear from the groups’ forthcoming album, set to be released this fall.
Loudwire described the new track as “[beginning] with a heavy guitar riff before finding an up-tempo and headbanging groove that got the NYC crowd fired up.
Formed in 1989 in New York, the band emerged onto the music scene as “one of the most distinctive sounds in its genre.” The band is made up of members singer Mina Caputo, bassist Alan Robert, Sal Abruscato, guitarist Joey Z., Whitfield Crane, Dan Richardson, and Kenny Pedersen. They have worked with several legendary bands including Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. To date, they have sold over one million albums.

According to Blabbermouth, Life of Agony recently began recording its 6th studio album, The Sound of Scars, with producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down). The album “will focus on “Rivers Runs Red“ the story of a teenager who survived a difficult childhood then slit his wrists in the bathroom. The record is set to arrive on Napalm in the fall.”
Last year’s 5th studio album, titled “A Place Where There’s No More Pain,” was hailed by Rolling Stones as “One of the Most Anticipated Albums of the Year.”
Now, after finishing the U.S. leg of the tour, the group will head to Europe for a summer tour kicking off in Schweinfurt, Germany on July 24.
