iMatter Festival has announced their 2019 lineup for Sunday, August 11 at the Chemung Country Fairgrounds in Horseheads, New York. The free festival is a celebration of both local and national rock artists, with the goal, according to their website, to “counter suicide, self-harm and self-doubt by promoting unearthed value, unveiled purpose and defiant hope to this generation.” The iMatter Festival was founded by the iMatter Foundation, whose goal is to prevent death from suicide and substance abuse. In addition to the festival, the organization has created iMatter House, a safe place for teens and young adults; iMatter Senior care, which provides assistance to seniors with high expenses; iMatter Community banquet, a gathering of regional leaders dedicated to the well-being of the community; leadership training programs; and school assemblies that address mental health and bullying.
This year, the festival will feature headlining artists Norma Jean, Beartooth and Close Quarters, as well as bands such as Wage War and Fit For A King. iMatters Festival has been running for the past few years in New York and has gained a large following and reverence from the community. This year’s lineup promises a big turnout, hopeful to expand their outreach and impact both in the community and as a whole.
