Indie artist Passion Pit has come together with Swedish EDM duo Galantis to release a new single. The song, which is titled “I FOUND U,” was just released to streaming this morning. Michael Angelakos, who performs under the pseudonym Passion Pit, started making music a little over a decade ago and has stunned audiences around the world with his work. Angelakos has been on a temporary break from releasing new material, with “I FOUND U” being his first track since 2017. Galantis is a well known duo in the electronic music community, taking over the scene with songs such as “Runaway (U & I)” and “No Money” in recent years. The performers have teamed up to release an uplifting indie music anthem that incorporates the best parts of both of their styles.
Passion Pit was a side project of Angelakos originally, but support for his music quickly led to it becoming Angelakos’ full time job. The performer had his first hit on his debut album, 2009’s Manners, with the song “Sleepyhead.” In 2012, Passion Pit truly broke out into the mainstream with the fan favorite album, Gossamer. The album spawned a few tracks that have since become some of the most well received indie pop songs of the decade. The tracks “Take a Walk” and “Carried Away” made Passion hit a well known name in the indie music scene. Part of Angelakos’ success has been due to his ability to combine together electronic influences with his pop music style, something he captures yet again by collaborating with Galantis.
Becoming incredibly popular among electronic music fans over the past few years, Galantis has blown up around the world from their first two albums. The duo’s biggest hit so far was the track “No Money,” which came from their second full length album, The Aviary. The album also spawned the songs “Love On Me” and “Hunter.” Prior to this, the duo first broke through into the international scene with the track “Runaway (U & I),” the group’s most well received track so far. This song, from their 2015 debut album Pharmacy, started the duo’s rise to dominance in the electronic music scene. The new collaboration with Passion Pit may be Galantis’ next big hit.
