Boris Announces New Album LφVE & EVφL for August 2019 Release

Experimental music group Boris announced their upcoming album LφVE & EVφL. The album will be the first put out by the band in over two years and is set to be released in August via Third Man Records. The band will be going on tour for the album around North America with the New York group Uniform. Their tour will kick off on August 19th in San Diego, California at Casbah and will conclude on September 29th in Los Angeles, California at the Echoplex. Boris will also be reissuing two albums including Akuma No Uta and Feedbacker.

Boris formed in Tokyo back in 1992 and they’ve been creating groundbreaking music ever since. The band consists of Takeshi on vocals, bass, and guitar, Wata on vocals, guitar, and echo, and Atsuo on vocals, drums, percussion, and electronics. The group is known for their rumbling percussion and crackling electric feel. Boris doesn’t shy away from the periphery as they explore new patterns and layers of sounds. Songs like “Farewell” and “Absolutego” demonstrate how skilled Boris is at contrasting metal rock with electric sounds. It’s easy to see how each album provides unique dimension to the Boris sound as their earlier albums are much calmer but no less technical than their more booming later albums. Most recently Boris gave a dynamic performance at Psycho Vegas back in August of 2018.
