Singer and actress Alison Sudol had a newsworthy day today, announcing a tour, a new EP and releasing a new song called “The Runner.” The new EP will be called Moonlite, which is similar to her previous release, the EP Moon, which was her first new music in six years.
Sudol broke out after she began performing as A Fine Frenzy in 2007, though in 2015 she announced she’d step away from that moniker and has used her name since.
The new EP is produced by Ali Chant, just like her previous EP. It will also feature collaborators Clive Deamer and Adrian Utley who have worked with Portishead and John Parish, who’s worked with PJ Harvey. While the release date is not confirmed yet, Moonlite should be out this summer.
In addition to the new music, Sudol has also stayed active as an actress. She appeared in the 2018 film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald as Queenie Goldstein.
She’ll be touring in August and September of 2019. The dates start on the West Coast before wrapping up in Philadelphia. She’ll play Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on September 13 and the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on August 2.
