Cat Power Announces Fall 2019 Tour Dates and Unveils New Video for “Horizon”

Following the news that Cat Power would release a 10th studio album Wanderer, the pop folk singer announced her fall 2019 tour dates. Additionally, the artist released her peaceful new music video for her single “Horizon.” The tour will begin on June 27th in Oxford, United Kingdom and will end in San Francisco, California on November 1st. Power will be hitting up major cities including Paris, Munich, New York, Vancouver, and Seattle among others.

Power’s video has a slow and melancholy feel to it. Following multiple people throughout, the video and lyrics to the song maintain a focus around family, love, and acceptance. During the video we see many relationships including a couple, a father and a daughter, friends, mothers and daughters, siblings, and one’s own self. Each clip presents itself in a different format, some being in black and white and others in color. Dark colors and heavy shadows give the song and video a somewhat nostalgic yet connected theme. The song itself is very open and begins with a slow acoustic sound on piano and guitar. Interestingly enough, the song ends on an electric sound with Power’s singing purposely auto-tuned. Watch the video below:

With Power’s impressive vocals and calming instrumentation, she clearly has demonstrated her raw talent and impeccable songwriting skills. Hopefully the rest of the album will continue to showcase her wonderful musical abilities. Power will be performing at the Yola Fest this June.
