Idles Shares New Song “Mercedes Marxist” and Announces Fall 2019 Tour Dates

The English punk rock group Idles just released their newest single “Mercedes Marxist. The song came off their most recent LP called Joy as an Act of Resistance. This release also came with the announcement of a Fall tour. Idles will make stops at some well known venues including Terminal 5 in New York City, The Fonda in Los Angeles, and more. The tour kicked off in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 5th and will continue all the way until October 17th in New York.

“Mercedes Marxist” is an interesting punk rock track featuring head knocking drumming and expert guitar playing. As the quick guitar strumming comes in and out of the track, it keeps listeners on edge, waiting to hear what comes next. The layering of two contrasting guitar rhythms and sounds make “Mercedes Marxist” a fun one to listen and dance to. In regards to the song, the Frontman of Idles, Joey Talbot, wrote on his instagram the following:

Idles formed in Bristol, United Kingdom back in 2009 and has been making music ever since. The members consist of Joe Talbot on lead vocals, Adam Devonshire on bass, Mark Bowen on guitar, Joe Beavis on drums and the newest member, Lee Kiernan on rhythm guitar. The group is well known for implementing progressive themes into their songs. Many of their works deal with issues such as sexism, racism, toxic masculinity, nationalism, and Brexit.
