Wayne Coyne is such a tease! The Flaming Lips Lead singer has confirmed their brand-new project, a collaboration record with Deap Vally. Coyne has shared a video about it, a snippet of their new upcoming music on his official Instagram account.
Starting with nine “Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!! Blam!!”s, Coyne dramatically emphasizes the act of utter completion of their new music project. He adds that, the “almost done” record reminds him of some music “badass” influences, from back-to-basics hard rocker Joan Jett to Detroit blues-rock duo the White Stripes, as well as new arising artist Billie Eilish. He then “@” mentions bandmate Steve Drozd and Dennis Coyne, as well as many others who are involved in the project. Deap Vally dropped the comment “Love you guys so much!!! Sooo fun!” and some cute emoji on the comment column.
Speaking of Coyne, the eclectic leader offered performances at Rough Trade on Record Store Day 2019 last month, which is music event for celebrating one of the largest independent records stores in Brooklyn, NY. Coyne also announced the Oklahoma indie pop band The Flaming Lips planned to release a vinyl record last year.
Formed by Julie Edwards and Lindsey Troy, Deap Vally is an LA-based rock n’ roll duo known for their bluesy and grungy riffs. Their latest album is Femejism, released in 2016.
But now, two bands are back, and about to start a rock n’ roll onslaught! Of course, fans of the two groups are over the moon.
