Logic and Eminem have teamed up to release new song “Homicide.” The song is the third single off of Logic’s upcoming album, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Logic previously debuted the previous singles from the album: “Keanu Reeves” in January and “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” in March. According the Logic, the album should be “coming soon,” but there is no set release date for it yet.
“Homicide” features an intro with Smokey Legendary, Logic’s father, who has also appeared in Logic’s song “Incarceration.” The song ends with a clip from Chris D’Elia, rapper and comedian, doing an impression of Eminem, which Eminem himself approved.
The song highlights the controlling theme that the rappers’ lines are like a semi-automatic weapon, and that listening to their verses is the “homicide” that the title refers to. “Homicide” is a much faster paced song than Logic’s standard and the other singles that he has released this year, with a speed that is closer to that more typical of Eminem and lyrics that take a keen ear to pick up on.
In a tribute to the song’s lyrics, if you haven’t listened yet, “we ain’t fuckin’ with that.”
