Gov Ball After Dark: Noname @ Brooklyn Bowl 5/31

Appearing as part of the Governor’s Ball Music Festival’s ‘Gov Ball After Dark’ series, Chicago born rapper Noname will headline at Brooklyn Bowl on May 31st. Let this be the after party after your Gov Ball Day 1 experience – doors open at 11:00pm and Noname takes the stage at 11:30pm. Tickets are $40 each for General Admission, and the show is for those 21 and over.

Born Fatimah Warner, Noname planted her musical roots in 2010, when she began writing and performing slam poetry and freestyle rap. She continued to express her unique style through various collaborations with fellow Chicago native musicians, including Chance the Rapper, Saba, and Mick Jenkins among others. Noname exploded as an artist after featuring on Chance the Rapper’s Mixtape Acid Rap. She collaborated once more with Chance on his Grammy-winning 2016 mixtape Coloring Book, where she rapped a verse on “Finish Line/Drown.”

Apart from her collaborators, Noname has built up a significant rapport for herself – she’s got two full-length releases under her belt, both of which expertly showcase Noname’s intricate flor and smooth delivery. Telefone and Regal were also released to overwhelming acclaim from critics across the board, including Rolling Stone (who dubbed her “One of the Best Rappers Alive”), Consequence of Sound, and Pitchfork.

The evidence seems pretty obvious: if you’re into rap and know what’s good for you, you certainly won’t want to miss this exclusive show.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
