The South African hip hop EDM group Die Antwoord announced their highly anticipated “House of Zef Tour.” The group wants to spread the culture and music of Zef, a South African counter culture movement. The tour will consist of 18 performances across North America in big cities like Seattle, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Dallas, New York, and San Francisco among others. “House of Zef” will kick off on September 9th of this year in Morrison, Colorado at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre and will conclude on October 5th in Boston, Massachusetts at its House of Blues location.
The group consists of two rappers Ninja and Yolandi Visser. The two have been apart of the South African hip hop scene for years. The duo has released four studio albums including $O$, Ten$ion, Donker Mag, and Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid. Their biggest hits consist of songs like “Baby’s on Fire,” “Ugly Boy,” and “I Fink U Freeky.” Their sound has been described as a genre mixture of hip-hop, rap, and EDM all rolled into one representation of Zef culture.
