The National has debuted new songs off their album I Am Easy to Find last night at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. This show marked the first performance of “Where is Her Head,” as well as renditions of “Rylan,” “You Had Your Soul With You,” “Hey Rosey,” and “Not in Kansas.” Currently, two songs off the album, “You Had Your Soul With You” and “Light Years” have been released, and the entirety of the album is set to come out on May 17. The band also debuted video for “Light Years,” directed by Mike Mills.
The National was joined by Phoebe Bridgers during the premiere of “Where is Her Head,” and Feist provided back-up vocals throughout the rest of the songs from I Am Easy to Find. The band plans to embark on an international tour beginning in June, after the release of their album. I Am Easy to Find incorporates vocals and collaborations from artists such as Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Mina Tindle, Lisa Hannigan, and Etten. The band has been together since 1999, and along with producing eight studio albums, the members have been vocal advocates during presidential elections and have played multiple benefit concerts in efforts of humanitarian support.
I Am Easy to Find combines Matt Berninger’s distinct vocals with the alt rock influence of its guest artists to create The National’s most eclectic album yet.
