Screaming Females Announce Summer 2019 Tour Dates

Screaming Females kick off their 2019 summer tour on May 22 in Australia before heading to New Zealand and then the United States. The first US show will take place on June 28 in Brooklyn, New York where the band, Dark Thoughts will join them for their US and Canada shows. Tickets are available HERE.

In 2018, the band released its seventh studio album, All At Once. The album was produced by Matt Bayles (Pearl Jam, Mastodon) and was largely comprised of experimentation, with arrangements meant to evoke the energy and spontaneity of their live performances. The band set out to make an album  in the spirit of a salon-style gallery show, where larger pieces provide an eye-level focal point to a galaxy of smaller works.

Screaming Females is from New Brunswick, New Jersey and includes Marissa Paternoster on guitar and vocals, Jarrett Dougherty on drums, and Mike “King Mike” Abbate on bass. They have been on NPR, Last Call with Carson Daly, and MTV and played with Garbage, Throwing Muses, Dinosaur Jr., The Dead Weather, Arctic Monkeys and others.

Back in 2005, Paternoster and Abbate formed a high school band called Surgery On TV. Dougherty joined the band and they changed their to Screaming Females. They got their start in the basement show scene of New Brunswick, New Jersey, where concerts were held in the houses of various bands, students, and residents, so people under 21 can attend. Screaming Females self-released the albums Baby Teeth in 2006 and What If Someone Is Watching Their T.V.? in 2007. The band then signed with Don Giovanni Records, which later re-released these two early albums.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
