Chris Brown Lashes Out at Chvrches: “these are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients”

In an unsuprising and entirely characteristic turn of events, Chris Brown has found new group to lash out at. On April 25, Chvrches posted a photo on Instagram with the text, “We are really upset, confused and disappointed by Marshmello’s choice to work with Tyga and Chris Brown. We like and respect Mello as a person but working with people who are predators and abusers enables, excuses and ultimately tacitly endorses that behaviour. That is not something we can or will stand behind.” Chvrches posted this photo as a response to the announcement that famed DJ Marshmello is working with artists Tyga and Chris Brown, both of whom have faced allegations of domestic abuse.

Tyga commented on the photo that: “Where [sic] all God’s children. Everyone makes mistakes no ones [sic] perfect. Let’s Keep [sic] the energy positive.”

Chris Brown commented on a different Chvrches post in a slightly disparate manner, with the response: “BUNCH OF LOSERS. these [sic] are the type of people I wish walked in front of a speeding bus full of mental patients. Keep groveling over you [sic] own insecurities and hatred. IM [sic] BLACK AND PROUD. AND I KNOW ITS [sic] HURTS THAT U [sic] GUYS ARE STRUGGLING WIT [sic] LIFE OR PEACE SO U [sic] ARE FORCED TO SEE MY SUCCESS. You aren’t even #2 (REMEMBER 2nd place only means YOU LOST FIRST! TA-TA. GOODDAY PEASANTS.”

In the words of John Mulaney, “Now, we don’t have time to unpack all of that.” Since the original comments, Chvrches lead singer, Lauren Mayberry, has posted screenshots of DMs that she has received, criticizing her for the post, but she has not retracted the statement. In a caption, she wrote, “Angry men on the internet can call me all the names they want. I still think domestic abuse is wrong.”
