According to Theprp, Fans at the Alice In Chain’s show last night in London, Ontario were surprised with a surprise guest appearance from Dallas Green. He came onstage to perform “Nutshell” alongside the rest of the group, a song he earned fame for previously covering.
Dallas Green is the singer and guitarist for Alexisonfire and the creator of City and Colour, his solo acoustic project. Recently he’s been touring solo as City and Colour on Alice in Chains’ spring world tour which is how he ended up onstage to perform the song last night. The tour is in support of the group’s critically acclaimed release Rainier Fog.
“Nutshell” is one of Alice In Chain’s most recognizable songs even though it was never released as a single. In the video below the crowd is easily heard cheering and singing along, obviously ecstatic to have Green join the band onstage.
Green’s latest endeavors include an extensive spring tour in 2017 throughout Canada in 25 cities. This tour was his love letter to Canada, where he is originally from, which led his album Guide Me Back Home to be his love letter to fans worldwide. Guide Me Back Home came out in 2018 as a live set which was captured during the tour. Prior to this came his 2015 album If I Should Go Before You.
