King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard released a new video on April 8th for their single “Planet B”. According to Pitchfork, the new single, “Plan B” is not going to be featured on their upcoming album Fishing for Fishies which is set to be released on April 26th. Fishing for Fishies will feature their other released singles “Cyboogie” and “Boogieman Sam”. The new video features all the members of the Australian rock band and has an interesting aesthetic with a violent end.
The music video opens with the members on their news barking in all orange outfits. Every member is in the same orange outfit give off a prisoner vibe. The band continues running around on an open road and dancing in a circle. There is chaotic energy in their movements that match the song. The camera closes in on a portrait of every member as they smile into the camera. Half-way through the music video, a white car drives through the field. A man with a gun comes out of the vehicle as the music comes to a solo drum beat. He starts shooting the band members one by one as they run away frantically. The video that starts with wild smiles ends with a sad turn. The song gets more intense and so does the video as we see all the bodies piled and then set on fire. Their new video makes an interesting statement about the world and the violence of mankind. Their new video is very different from recently released videos for “Cyboogie” and “Fishing for Fishies” which are very colorful and quirky.
Warning: This video contains violent images
