The Lumineers has announced their third album, promptly titled III will be releasing on September 13 via Dualtone. The new album will include 13 tracks, featuring a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Democracy.” Fraites discussed the new album, saying “This collection of songs worked out in a beautiful way, and I feel with this album we’ve really hit our stride.”Along with the album announcement, the band also released a new song called “Gloria.” Lead singer Wesely Schulz discussed the new song in a press release, saying it “is about love between an addict and her family.” Check out the new song below.
The album follows their sophomore effort, Cleopatra, released in 2016. III is noted to be a darker album in tone than their previous albums. It is described as “masterly in artistic directions not yet traveled by the band.”See the album cover and tracklist below. They will also be hitting the road later this year playing numerous music festivals including Bonnaroo, Woodstock 50, Fuji Rock, Osheaga, and Outside Lands. The band will then head to Europe for solo gis, playing notable arenas including the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Germany’s Palladium, and the O2 in London.
