Eve Maret is an experimental musician and artist from Nasvhille, TN that crafts introspective, expansive electronic soundscapes. Her performances and recordings are meant to explore “personal and communal healing” and she founded the music collective and education center Hyasynth House in Nashville. The goal of this center is to help female, trans, minority, and non-binary artists.
Today, we’re pleased to premiere an entrancing new video for her song “My Own Pace.” The song features eye-catching imagery of the artist bathed in brilliant light, casting a striking silhouette as she moves her body to the music.
“My Own Pace” is one of the new tracks that will be included on No More Running (Deluxe Edition). This album is the full release of her cassette-only limited intro run on Banana Tapes, while the deluxe edition is self-released.
“An improvised collaboration between myself and videographer Helen Gilley, “My Own Pace” explores the relationship between the earthly and the celestial with the use of light, color, and gesture,” said Maret. “Appearing in silhouette, I am both exposed and hidden from view. “My Own Pace” is an affirmation of my longing to connect to my personal power and the power that lies beyond me.”
As a counterpoint to the new song, Maret is also releasing “Sound of Space Between” on Soundcloud. That track is from the original tape release.
