The dance music phenomenon, Diplo, premiered two new house tracks. The tracks are called “Hold You Tight” and “Bubble Up” and are taken from a forthcoming EP of house tracks that is soon to come.
Diplo launched his career on the fringes of dance music. Through mixtapes and collaborations he was able to find and create a sound where his musical tastes of 80s pop, electronica, hip hop and Miami bass music, intersect. Some of his work that made a heavy impact on the alternative electro-pop scene was his project Hollertronix and the Piracy Funds Terrorism, Vol. 1 mixtape with MC M.I.A. He is now commonly recognized as the producer and co-creator of Major Lazer.
His latest work, LSD, is a collaborative project with Labrinth and Sia. Off of the new album, which is set to come out on April 12, they just released the track “No New Friends.” In the upcoming weeks, Diplo will be playing an inaugural after party for the major country music festival, Stagecoach in addition to performing at Coachella. This week he is set to play at the iconic nightclub E11EVEN for Miami Music Week.
“Hold You Tight” and “Bubble Up” follow Diplo’s recently released Europa EP which finds the dynamic producer assembling rising artists including Octavian, Niska, IAMDDB and more.
Diplo won Grammy Awards in 2016 for Best Dance/Electronic Album for krill and Dipolo Present Jack Ü and Best Dance Recording for “Where Are Ü Now.” This year, he won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for “Electricity.”
