The new video is full of color, funny aesthetics and crazy dance moves. “bad guy” has a solid constant beat that keeps the video grounded. The video starts when Billie Eilish busts through a yellow backdrop and drops her Invisalign into a man’s hands. Her entire outfit matches the yellow background and throughout the video, her outfits make a color statement. She is then featured in all-white contrasting a turquoise blue background. He nose is bleeding as her knees pop to the beat of the song. She is in all black in another scene while men move their bellies to the right of her. Billie also rides around in a small kid’s car in all red while men on little bicycles stand behind her.
The video explores a dreamlike reality with vivid colors and creates unique scenarios. In one part of the video she is wearing goggles and in another, she pours milk in a man’s mouth in front of the sunset. A display of Billie’s creativity continues as she rolls around on a striped yellow and pink carpet. All the images are very out of this world but match the alien-like background tones. Then the song goes into its reprise there’s a short break and Billie is in red light. The camera slowly zooms out from Billie’s face and we see her on someone’s back as they do push-ups. Billie Eilish challenges reality in her new video while creating aesthetic scenes. Her entire new album explores a new modern reality and what it means to be a teenager in today’s age.
