Rosalía @ Webster Hall 4/29-4/30

Ready to get your hips swaying? You better be: Spanish songstress Rosalía will be headlining two shows at the newly renovated Webster Hall on April 29th and 30th. General admission tickets are selling for $40, and selling fast – resale tickets are already climbing to $100+, so grab yours while you can! Doors to this show will welcome you at 7:00pm, and the smooth jams will begin at 8:00pm. The show will be open to everyone 16 and older.

Let’s not beat around the bush: Rosalía blew up in the past year. Her overnight success came shortly after the release of her sophomore album El Mal Querer, which received overwhelming critical acclaim. The record ended up on lists from the likes of the New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, and many other publications as one of the best albums of 2018. And what an album it is: El Mal Querer is a spectacular celebration of the art of flamenco music, refreshed and effectively brought into the twenty-first century. Rosalía is one of many artists who brought Spanish and Latin music into the mainstream ear throughout 2018 and was welcomed with open arms. She has collaborated with large players within both Latin and mainstream communities in the past, including James Blake, Pharrell Williams and Jay Balvin, among others.

Fans can expect a show that’s just as passionate as it is fun and exciting – absolute bops like lead single “MALAMENTE” and “DI MI NOMBRE” will be plentiful, and sprinkled throughout sincere ballads such as “PIENSO EN TU MIRA” and “NANA.” Her lyrics are entirely in Spanish  – and if that somehow sways you, don’t let it. All people will embrace and understand the inherent power and feeling in her vocal, whether you understand the lyrics or not. Rosalía truly is a beautiful artist and is going to incredible places… just come to her show and see.

Melissa Aiello: Hi there, nice to meet you! My name is Melissa and I am a 24-year-old passionate lover of all things related to music and live entertainment. I've been singing since the second grade, and playing guitar for the past five years. I grew up in a fairly musical household, with my grandfather breaking out his accordion and starting sing-a-longs at every family gathering. It was here that I began falling in love with music and its power to change moods, emotions, and lives. My taste in music goes far and wide - you name it, I'll (probably) listen to it. My hundreds of Spotify playlists include everything from Biggie to ABBA to the Jonas Brothers (thank GOD they're back together) to Dolly Parton and everything in-between. I aim for my little corner of the internet to spread love and positivity for all this beautiful music, and give you the opportunity to see or hear artists you may otherwise have not heard of.
