Foxygen Pull No Punches on New Song “Face The Facts”

Psych-pop group Foxygen have released the next single from their upcoming new album Seeing Other People. The song is called “Face The Facts” and it takes on a lounge-y vibe with warm synths and what is described as “Radotronics.” Sam France and Jonathan Rado lay out their opinions in blunt fashion – “You’re never gonna be a famous rock n’ roller / Now that it’s over / Face the facts.”

Later on, that commentary becomes internal with lyrics like “Face the facts / I’m never gonna get you back” and “I’m never gonna dance like James Brown.” Joining Rado and France on the track are Kane Richotte, who plays an all-snare drum set, Rob Moose (Bon Iver, Alabama Shakes) playing strings

The band’s previous single from the upcoming Seeing Other People with “Livin’ A Lie.” The new album, which will be their sixth studio album, releases on April 26 via Jagjaguwar. They have yet to announce tour dates in support of the new album.

Foxygen was formed by Rado and France as high-school students in Westlake Village, CA. They released an album in 2007 called Jurrassic Exxplosion Phillipic, though they truly debuted to national audiences with the release of Take the Kids Off Broadway through Jagjaguwar. The release of We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic saw them become a household name in the indie world, with songs like “No Destruction” and “San Francisco” latching on with listeners.
