The Electric Daisy Carnival(EDC) in Las Vegas, Nevada has officially released its 2019 line-up featuring its usual suspects electro house legend Deadmau5, trance mainstays Above & Beyond and fellow electro house mainstay Kaskade. This festival will take place, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from May 17th to 19th and will be preceded by numerous club shows on the strip in preparation for the event.

This year’s line-up also features several unique additions to the annual rave, with early 90s trance legend Paul Oakenfold, New York rapper A$AP Rocky and even pop scientist Bill Nye attending the event. Chicago house legend Green Velvet will also host a special event entitled La La Land, named after his 1990’s club hit of the same name.

EDC humbly began as a warehouse party in Pacoima, California, hosted by future music executive and mogul Gary Richards, Stephen Hauptfuhr. Eventually the festival began to draw large attendances, while Richards began to make a large career for himself, launching several electronic dance music festivals including Hard Fest, and the new All My Friends Festival.

The Las Vegas Vegas iteration of the fest took form in 2011, after taking place across various venue’s across numerous venues in Southern California, most prominently at the LA Coliseum, where it took place from 2007 to 2010. In 2010 the festival had its largest turnout appearance at the Coliseum, however after several controversies, which included the death of 15 year old girl of an MDMA overdose, the concert’s run in the city ended, which caused the festival to move across the Nevada border.

As one of the largest electronic dance music festivals in the United States, alongside power players such as the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida, EDC consistently draws large names. DJs such as Tiesto, Martin Garrix and Alesso have been maystays at the fest for nearly the entire decade.

Tickets for the festival are still available and can be purchased here. Only festival passes for the entire three days can be purchased. Las Vegas hotels are usually at their busiest during EDC weekend, however on-site camping with a variety of packages are also available on the festival’s website.

Kaskade has been making routine appearances at major festivals throughout the past year, which includes an appearance at the Electric Zoo and at Sun Soaked. As one of the more prominent mainstream EDM producers Kaskade has held large appearances on his own, selling out the LA Coliseum in 2016.

Although well-renowned for his popularity during the late 2000s for hits such as “Strobe,” “Faxing Berlin,” and “Hi Friend,” Deadmau5 has achieved infamy for his notorious online presence in recent years. Earlier this year Deadmau5, who’s real name is Joel Zimmerman, was temporarily banned from videogame streaming platform switch for making a homophobic comment.

As the UK’s most prominent trance groups in recent memory, Above & Beyond have been popular since their inception in the year 2000, making huge radio appearances by 2004. Last year they released their fourth studio album as Above & Beyond entitled Common Ground.
