Ella Vos @ Emo’s 4/3

If you missed Ella Vos’ performance at SXSW this year, don’t fear! You have another chance to see her at Emo’s April 3rd with Clara Mae! Beginning as a keyboardist and vocalist for BØRNS, Ella Vos began to define her own electro-dream pop style after the birth of her son in 2015. Ella Vos struggled with postpartum depression, which has acted as both a catalyst and inspiration for her solo musical career. She first garnered attention with her single, “White Noise,” which reach number one on Spotify’s viral chart in 2016.

Surface listening, Ella Vos’ music is lightweight and whimsical. Yet a deeper take at her sound, one realizes her feminist undertones – especially with songs like “You Don’t Know About Me” and her entire debut album Words I Never Said. Her otherworldly sound makes for deep introspection into the world around us.

Opening for the night, Clara Mae has an equally appealing magical pop vibe. Partnering with DJ duo KREAM for “Taped Up Heart” and “Drowning,” Clara Mae’s music definitely contains harder electronic influences than that of Ella Vos. Yet both artists attempt to capture what it means to be human through poppy vocals and hints of electro. Tickets start at only $18!
