Longtime percussionist of Slipknot Chris Fehn has now parted ways with the band after filing a lawsuit against them last week. According to Consequence of Sound, a report from The Blast stated that Fehn was pointing out Corey Taylor and fellow percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, “alleging that he was not fairly compensated for profits from touring and merchandise. [He] apparently accused his bandmates of setting up multiple business entities instead of funneling all the profits through one single company to be split among the band members.”
Taylor has since responded to a fan via Twitter about Fehn’s termination, tweeting “You think that’s dickish, try being wrongfully accused of stealing money from someone you cared about, and having a lot of your fans believe it.”
The change comes on the heels of the band’s upcoming new album, set to be released August 9. The new album has yet to be titled and they have been putting their literal blood and tears into making the album. It will also be one of the bands’ most personal yet. Taylor spoke with Music Week about the new record earlier this year, stating “I can’t go into it too much because it deals with a lot of my personal life, but the last few years have been really tough for me.” They are also gearing up to hit the road in both Europe and North America this summer, being joined by Volbeat, Gojira, and Behemoth.
