Fiona Apple Teases New Album with At Home Recordings In New Video

Fiona Apple is back in the music scene. After updating fans last year via a Tumblr Q&A that she is indeed making new music, the same  Tumblr account shared two new videos of Apple hinting at the new music she mentioned, according to Pitchfork. The first video shows Apple asking her dog “Are we recording? Are we doing vocals?… I think we are.” She then continues to say, “OK, we need to get back to work now…. You don’t need to go to a studio…. You could just do stuff in your house, and then nobody can tell you what to do.” The second video displays Apple playing percussion, with a note stating “make sure to say it’s my sloppy percussion, because I know I’m sloppy….”

Apple’s last full-length effort was her critically acclaimed album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, released in 2012. Last year, she released a lullaby written by Solangie Jimenez and Thomas Cabaniss called “I Can’t Wait to Meet You” apart of Carnegie Hall’s Lullaby Project compilation album Hopes and Dreams: The Lullaby Project. The project includes a collection of songs written by pregnant women and new mothers from New York City. Apple also collaborated with King Princess for a new version of  “I Know.”
