Devin Townsend Releases Epic Video for New Single “Evermore”

Devin Townsend, the Canadian metal musician recently released his new music video for his single “Evermore”. The new video features a cartoon cat that goes on a complex journey through the universe in a spaceship. The cat starts in space where there are meteors, galaxies, and comets. The spaceship then starts to go out of control as the music speeds up.  The cat then lands on Earth and the spaceship goes into the ocean. The video combines documentary live footage of underwater creatures with interesting animation. The animated cat has its own personality where we see it dancing in the spaceship and looking distraught when coming out of the ocean. The music ramps up and the cat returns to space where the spaceship goes through space yet again. At the end, the cat cheers as he reaches Mars and the song ends on a slightly angelic tone. The combination of reality and animation creates for an interesting aesthetic that makes you immerse yourself into Townsend’s single, “Evermore”.

Townsend released a music video for his single, “Genesis” making fans even more excited for what was to come next. The “Genesis” video also featured themes of space and cats. Townsend compares the two singles in his press release, “Therefore, we opted to release this song, ‘Evermore’, as way to bridge that gap. It’s slightly in the same vein as ‘Genesis’ on some level I suppose, but a little more groovy and a bit less fractured in terms of structure”. Devin stated that he was going to put out another song named “Spirits will Collide”, but the video is still in the process and needed more time. Townsend takes great pride in his new album. He shares that music has given him a type of therapy and a space to share a part of himself during his Empath documentary episode.

Devin Townsend will start his upcoming North America tour on May 16th in Buffalo, New Jersey. “Genesis” and “Evermore” are the two released singles from his new album Empath. The two singles have been creative hits, making fans highly anticipate his new album coming out on March 29th. Devin’s upcoming tour will highlight his new electronic metal album Empath and entice fans across the globe.
