Taken By Trees Shares George Michael Cover “Careless Whisper”

The Swedish dream pop act Taken By Trees released a cover of the George Michael classic “Careless Whisper.” The entrancing cover features a twist from the producer Dan Lissvikk of Swedish dance-rockers Studio. In addition to Victoria Bergman’s melodious voice, Mr. Little Jeans is on the backing for vocals.

Taken By Trees is a Swedish indie-folk group founded by Victoria Bergsman, the former vocalist for The Concretes. She is also featured on the Peter, Bjorn and John global hit “Young Folks.” Her musical curiosity spurred the formation of the group and drove an impressive catalog of works in a short amount of time. Her sound is varying album to album, from the Middle Eastern-influenced sounds of East of Eden to the tropical pop vibes of Other Worlds.

After 2012 Bergsman took a break util 2018 when she returned with her album Yellow to Blue, one that transformed her sound into a modern pop setting. Yellow to Blue is her fourth studio album and was in the making for three years. It explores the pop genre to its fullest and was made with the help of Jesse Shatkin and co-writers Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij and Daniel Nigro, all of whom have worked with well established artists.
