This summer, Jim James and The Claypool Lennon Delirium will partner up for a co-headlining tour across North America. While he has a notable solo career of his own, Jim James or Yim Yames is also the vocalist and songwriter of American rock band My Morning Jacket. His partners for the tour are a fresh psych rock band formed in 2015, who is composed of Les Claypool and Sean Lennon.
The two acts will tour across the United States and Canada for a total of 9 nights of captivating psychedelick rock. The tour will begin on June 21, at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will wind down on July 5 at the Vina Robles Amphitheater in Paso Robles, California. The tour will also hit other notable venues like The Showbox in Seattle, Washington, House of Blues in Anaheim, California, and The Wiltern, in Los Angeles, California. Full dates and locations are included below and tickets can be purchased through James’ website, here.
My Morning Jacket is one of the world’s most acclaimed rock ‘n’ roll bands, having released records like It Still Moves, Evil Urges, and their 2015 latest, The Waterfall. In 2018, James released two separate albums Uniform Distortion and Uniform Clarity, which feature him exploring two different sounds, with the latter being an entirely acoustic rendition of the former. Apart from this co-headlining tour, James will also embark on a solo tour for his albums, which sees him grace some festivals like Shaky Knees in Atlanta Georgia, and Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee.
Just this year, Claypool and Lennon released their sophomore album, South of Reality, a balance between grittiness and spacey-ness that offers listeners “both an escape from modern chaos and a filter through which to embrace it.”
