With so much going on during SXSW, if you’re with a group, with a friend, or even by yourself it’s easy to get lost because there is so much going on in every direction. Brooklyn Vegan doesn’t want you to get lost, actually no one wants you to get lost but if you do get lost then I’m taking a guess and say Brooklyn Vegan along with Margin Walker hope you get lost at their showcase, Lost Weekend 3. Their last two Lost Weekends were one of the top shows to go to during SXSW and it seems they’ve oudone themselves this year as Amanda Palmer will be performing at Lost Weekend 3. This year’s showcase will have two stages of live music with at least 25 bands at the moment and more to be announced. Some of the musicians scheduled to play are; OtoBoke Beaver, Westerman and Amanda Palmer,
Otoboke Beaver is an all female rock band from Kyoto, Japan who will make the long journey to Austin, to take the stage at Lost Weekend 3. Otokboke Beaver will look to captalize on their breakout year from 2017 when they played Pitchfork, NPR, i-D and The Fader at SXSW. They are ready to make the long trip anytime a gig comes up, for examples making a trip of 24,000 miles in one week to play two shows at Coachella and then a three date headliner in the UK. No matter the distance Otoboke Beaver is ready to take the stage where they are wanted.
London musician Westerman will take the stage at Lost Weekend 3. This indie pop artist is a silent singer but don’t underestimate the lack of of pop sounds to gain attenton. He was one of Stereogum’s aritst to watch of 2018. He released a 4 track album called Ark in 2018, and although he has not released anything recently he has plenty of singles going back to 2016 that he’ll have the crowd swaying to.
Amanda Palmer will headline Lost Weekend 3 and it appears that she takes the stage after releasing her first solo album in more than 6 years. Palmer, who’s a singer, writer, pianist, activist and blogger first gained worldwide stardom as part of the cabaret duo, The Dresden Dolls. And her solo career has been just as successful, her first album Theatre Is Evil, debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and still remains as the top-funded music project on Kickstarter. It’ll be no secret that there will be plenty of people ready to see Amanda Palmer when she takes the stage.
