Channy Leaneagh of Polica took a painful fall last week and broke her back, according to Brooklyn Vegan and a few Instagram posts. This was a result of her trying to fight off the brutal winter weather and get rid of the forming ice dams on her roof.
Luckily, Leaneagh is expected to make a full recovery and is able to walk around the hospital thanks to the aid of her back brace. However, the process of recovery and therapy comes unexpected financial costs for the frontwoman. In order to assist her financial costs, the band launched a GoFundMe to raise money towards medical bills, childcare, and other unexpected expenses while the frontwoman recovers for the next four to five months.
The GoFundMe reads as stated below:
Last week our dear friend Channy Leaneagh of POLIÇA fell and broke her back while trying to fight off this brutal winter and the ice dams it created on her roof. Thankfully she is expected to make a full recovery and is already walking a bit with the help of a very fashionable back brace, but the mounting medical bills, need for ongoing childcare, and inability to work or perform for the next four to five months has created quite a financial burden. We’ve set up this GoFundMe page so that Channy can put 100% of her focus into getting back to full strength without the added stress and worry that these costs carry with them. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on her recovery throughout the coming months. Thank you so much for your help and support!
A few Instagram posts were also left as further updates to her medical care. One thanking North Memorial Health.
